Strawberries

Strawberries – Local strawberries are in peak production, and they have been beautiful! The cooler weather we’ve been having will hopefully stretch out the season a little longer than usual, as it’s usually summer heat that finishes it up.

Avocados – Pretty weather in the avocado groves has good harvests during the middle of the season. Markets are stable as we move into warmer months and higher demand.

Cabbage – Has started locally, so pricing is very good with almost no freight to get it to market. Quality is excellent and it doesn’t get any fresher than this.

Cherries – Fresh cherry season is here! Get them while they’re in season, because they are SO delicious.

Corn – Quality is still amazing on corn, and pricing is very steady.

Eggs – Egg prices went as low as they could a couple of weeks ago, but they’re settling in at a bit higher but still very favorable level.

Grapes – We’re still in the transition from winter season South American fruit to springtime harvests getting started in Mexico. Prices are way higher on drastically short supplies, especially reds. We should see improvement in availability and pricing in a few weeks.

Lettuces – Are widely available with great quality. The transition to northern fields is over and it wasn’t as bad as feared. Pricing has leveled out for the time being.

Peaches – East coast peach season continues. Quality is really nice and continues to improve as we get further into the crop.

Potatoes – Idaho potatoes are starting to tighten up and prices are easing upwards. Shippers are anticipating running out of potatoes a little bit early this year, so we may see a gap in July before the new harvest begins. Stay stocked up so you don’t run out at the end.

Squash and Zucchini– Local farmers are just getting started on fresh fields. Volume is starting out light, but the flood gates are going to open very soon and everyone will have squash through the summer.

My friend, Jack, said that he can communicate with vegetables.
It’s true, Jack and the beans talk.
